Born July 11, 1908 in Sale, county of Cheshire, England.
Her father died when she was very young and her mother a few years later. After her mother's death, she lived with relatives in County Roscommon, Ireland before emigrating to the United States.
She arrived at Ellis Island on October 13, 1925 aboard the SS Cedric, which had set sail from the seaport of Cobh in Ireland. The ship's manifest indicated that her nearest relative in Ireland was her uncle, Michael McDonagh of Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon, Ireland, and that she was aged 16. The immigration officer's list of passengers indicated that she intended to live with her Aunt Kenny (that is, Mary "Mollie" McDonagh) in Jersey City, New Jersey.After arrriving in the United States, she lived in Manhattan, New York with one of her mother's sisters, all three of whom had previously moved to the United States.
Married Edward Joseph Duffy on February 11, 1934 in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Mahnattan.
Died May 13, 2004 in Manhattan.
Buried in St. Raymond's Cemetery in Bronx, New York in same plot as Edward Joseph Duffy (husband) and Patrick "Packy" O. Torpey (brother).
